I just submitted a grant to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency
Prevention to study adolescent girls' everyday life experiences prior to
incarceration: "Troubling Girls: A Research Proposal to Assess the Effects of Institutional Policies and Practices on the Everyday Experiences of Delinquent Girls."

I am continuing my research on rural crime victims. A piece of this
research will be presented at the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Criminology, San Francisco, CA, November 2000: "Accessing Help: Routes of Exposure to Victim Services for Domestic Violence and Property Crime Victims." I am in the process of developing a book prospectus, "The Criminalization of Motherhood: The Intersection of Gendered Policy and Familial Ideology.
